Is there a God?
Is there a God?
I can"t definitely prove that God does exist, but I can prove that both Devil and evil doe, which indirectly confirms God"s existence. By the way, the word Devil although it is pronounced differently, has a lot in common with the word "evil". Just add a single letter and you got "You know who." You don"t have to be a theologian to understand that Devil and evil not only exist but go hand in hand. Who is Devil? I can"t tell you exactly, but I can tell you that much that nowadays he is not the one he used to be. Definitely he does not have horns and hoofs and the fork is outdated. Devil nowadays drives black Mercedes Benz r a Porsche (all those German cars), dresses in black suits or (if he"s a female) in red dresses, organizes corporate takeovers or deals in weapons or drugs. Devil organizes the modern slave trade, prostitution, and starts war. True, not all Devils are rich or well connected. Not all live in mansions although many do. It"s enough just to have a look around and what you see? It is the corrupt, (d)evil people that are the richest. Dictators, kings, CEOs that overflow in cash and other benefits while hard working men work hard for a few measly dollars. Who said communism was bad? It was a wonderful idea, but Devil had to destroy it. Same conditions for all people. Never. You can take the best idea and turn it into a disaster and disaster it was. In the end there was only a name. Just look at China, I"ve never seen a capitalist more keen to make a buck and destroy his own country. Whether it is Devil"s work, you be the judge, but the Chinese destroy they own land so fast they soon won"t be able to breathe, drink their water or eat their crops. All of us contribute to the destruction of God"s work, but some are more keen than the rest. Who"s advice do they listen to?
A good question is: "Where is God and why doesn"t he do intervene?" The Jews have been praying to Yahve for 2000 years to save them and to give them back their homeland.... Does He listen. Is Israel an answer to those prayers? Many people, even in Israel, doubt it. A Jewish survivor of the Hitler"s concentration camps told me that many people lost faith in God in the camps in the face of what was going on. It was obvious to them that even if God did exist, the Devil had the upper hand. What can you do? The Americans have a saying: "If you can"t beat them join them," but I doubt that all of us are capable of joining the dark side. I, for one, can"t. Even in face of evil we still hope that the white knight will defeat the dark force in the end. Maybe he will... or there will be no hope for the world...
Where is God? I don"t know. Where is heaven? I have no idea. Where is hope?
I think that it is like that. God is neither lazy, nor uninterested, nor indifferent. I can"t be sure, of course, about God but I can be sure about myself. After all if God exists than I am his creation. That"s simple logic that anyone can understand. And as his creation I must mirror God - just like a table made by a master carpenter looks in a different way than the table made by a bad one. Looking at myself I understand that God is just like us. Good and bad, weak and strong, blind and all mighty. He is loving and hating, faithful and not, forgiving and unforgiving. He is all we are and more... That is why there is so many contradicting statements in the Bible. I think that God changes just as we do. He develops with us as we develop with Him and he is constantly changing... hopefully for the better. We are as like God and God is like us. Thus follows that if we want God to be the way we want him to be, then we ourselves need to behave the way we want God to behave. Many people want God to be a loving Daddy, but, of course, nothing could be further from the truth. God is a loving father, but only if we behave. He is always ready to embrace us but as all loving father he knows that unless you feel the pain you won"t learn. Even Jesus is not the entirely loving person he is portrayed as. He preaches love but he also condemns people that won"t change. He had his own Devil to fight and he never said it was easy to follow in his footsteps. By the way, Islam recognizes in Allah the same God Jesus came to earth to proclaim. Islam does recognize the Jewish God and makes Him a God of Arabs too. There are plenty of references to the "Jewish" God and to Jesus in Koran. Read it!
So it there God? You be the judge, but there is definitely more than meets the eye. You don"t have to be a priest of a psychologist to understand that there is more to us than the waking reality. Our dreams tell us things about ourselves that we don"t know to know. Possibly we even receive messages from God through our unconscious. Who knows?
I believe that we are like mice, small white mice in a box in a lab. The scientist performs tests in order to find a cure for a serious disease. He injects the poor mice with vaccines, kills them, dissects them... All in order to find a cure. Of course, the mice aren"t capable of understanding what is going on, the greater good. The scientist is God and the goal sacrifices the means. We are the mice. We suffer and we don"t understand why. We live and we die and we don"t know what"s the point. We seek for the meaning of life and the only one we can find is collecting money and riches - things that we cannot take with us wherever we are going. Only the scientist knows why the mice are being cruelly treated and that there is a point to the suffering. I think that evil and Devil are part of God"s experiment, I think that it is Devil that has to assist God in his ongoing experiment, whether he likes it or not. Sometimes he gets overzealous with dire results and possibly he is being punished too.
Ss a young man I tried to prove God existence by pointing out that you can"t find him anywhere. But it"s the same with Devil, can you find him anywhere? Of course not. You can find him and judge him by his deeds only and so much evil that we"ve created on earth, how could anyone doubt? But there is a positive aspect to all things, a contrast, as night changes into day, and this is God This is what I believe is what it is all about. There is a balance between good and evil and we are the ones responsible for maintaining it. Thus, by doing good stuff we act as God"s representatives on earth and by doing evil stuff as Devil"s advocates and minions. Taking into account that it is God that is the one in charge, we should be trying to stand on His (right) side rather than on the Devil"s. Otherwise chances are we are going to regret it.
